  • 1 Coconut (Coconut with hair (lighter in color for freshness))
  • 2 cup Water (Must be at room temperature)
  • 1 Sharp knife (To peel off the coconut kernel)
  • 1 Nut milk bag or muslin cloth
Instructions
  1. Breaking the coconut

    Begin by choosing a coconut with hair, ensuring it's neither too dry nor too green. To break it open, either hit it on the ground or use a heavy tool to split it into two pieces.

    To prepare coconut milk at home, you’ll need to use a coconut with hair. The lighter the color, the fresher it is.
  2. Extracting the Coconut Kernel

    Take out the white coconut kernel using a sharp knife. For an easier process, freeze the coconut for 15 minutes before extracting.

  3. Preparing the Coconut Mixture

    In a blender, combine one cup of coconut kernel with two cups of room temperature water. Blend for approximately one minute until the mixture is smooth.

  4. Straining the Mixture

    Place a nut milk bag or muslin cloth over a large bowl and pour the coconut mixture into it. Squeeze the cloth with your hands to extract the coconut milk.
